At last I have time to to work my way through the mountain of photos I was too busy to process over the summer months.

Harrier Jump jet aboard HMS Ark Royal, farewell tour 2010, originally uploaded by mattmuir.co.uk.

HMS Ark Royal (R07) visits Northumbrian Quay, North Shields as part of her farewell tour of Britain. The Keel of the Ark Royal R07 was laid down in 1978 at the Swan Hunters Shipyard in North Shields and so made for a fitting final stop over prior to her final voyage to Portsmouth where she will be decommissioned.

Cheers to Warehouse express for choosing my shot as the winning entry to the Round 4 Photo competition. Was really pleased with my shot anyway but this makes it even better. Rather aptly this photo was taken using a lens I bought from the winning money from the round 1 BDS photo competition. So double thanks Warehouse express!

Thanks also to Dave, Si and all the BDS crew for making the series such a great success. If 2010 was anything to go by 2011 should be amazing.
